Terms of Service
Effective date: October 8, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Travel Risk API, including the website at travelriskapi.com, the API at api.travelriskapi.com, the developer dashboard, documentation and any related data (together, the "Service").
Travel Risk API is a product of Travel Code, Inc., a corporation registered in the State of Florida, United States of America, with its principal place of business at 1307 Rodman St, Hollywood, FL 33019, USA ("Travel Code", "we", "us"). By creating an API key, calling the API or otherwise using the Service, you ("Customer", "you") agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it, and "you" includes that organisation.
1. The Service
The Service provides programmatic access to travel risk information (government travel advisories, natural disaster, weather and conflict alerts, composite country risk scores) and aviation information (airports, airlines, flights, aircraft, in-flight connectivity, wait times and fares), delivered as JSON over HTTPS.
We may add, change or retire endpoints and data fields. We announce breaking changes on the changelog and, where reasonably possible, give at least 30 days' notice for changes to a stable endpoint.
2. Accounts and API keys
- You must provide a valid email address and keep your account details accurate.
- API keys are confidential. Do not embed them in public client-side code or share them outside your organisation. You are responsible for all activity under your keys.
- Tell us immediately at api@travel-code.com if a key is compromised. We may revoke or rotate keys that appear compromised or abused.
3. Plans, quotas and payment
- Plans, request quotas and rate limits are described on the pricing page. The free plan is provided as is, without any service commitment, and may be changed or withdrawn.
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe. Fees are exclusive of taxes, which you are responsible for where applicable. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from the dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Requests above your plan's quota are refused or, where you have bought prepaid credits, charged against those credits.
- If you subscribe through a third-party marketplace such as RapidAPI, that marketplace handles billing, quotas and your key under its own terms, and these Terms govern your use of the data and the Service.
4. Acceptable use
You will not, and will not allow anyone else to:
- resell, sublicense or redistribute the raw data as a standalone dataset or as a competing API, data feed or data product;
- exceed or circumvent quotas or rate limits, including by spreading traffic across multiple free accounts or keys;
- scrape the website or dashboard, or attempt to reverse engineer, probe or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to violate the rights of others, or in breach of applicable sanctions and export laws;
- represent that Travel Code endorses your product, or remove attribution that we ask you to keep.
You may display data from the Service to your own end users inside your products, for example in a booking flow, a traveller app, a risk dashboard or a report, provided that the data is not made available in bulk.
5. Data and intellectual property
The Service, its software, documentation, scores, derived data and compilation are owned by Travel Code or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service and its data during your subscription for the purposes described in Section 4.
Some underlying information originates from public sources such as government agencies. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have in that public information obtained directly from its original source.
You keep all rights in the data you send to us, such as search parameters. We use it only to provide, secure and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Third-party data
Some data in the Service is provided under open licences that require credit. IP geolocation: IP Geolocation by DB-IP, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Aircraft photos are returned with their photographer credit and photo page link. If you display a photo, show the credit as visible text next to it, link the image to the photo page given in the response, and do not make photos a paid-only or members-only feature of your product.
6. Important: informational use only
Travel risk and aviation data change quickly and may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. The Service is a source of information, not professional security, medical, legal or travel advice, and it does not replace official government guidance, airline or airport communications, or your own duty-of-care procedures. You are solely responsible for decisions you or your users make based on the Service. Do not rely on the Service as the only source in situations involving risk to life or safety.
7. Availability and support
We aim to keep the Service available and fast, and publish its current status at travelriskapi.com/status. Unless a separate written agreement with Travel Code says otherwise, we do not guarantee any specific uptime or response time. Support is provided by email at api@travel-code.com. Security and compliance information for Travel Code is available at the Trust Center.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where reasonably possible, if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, create a security risk, or if we are required to by law. Sections 5, 6, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, TIMELINESS AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRAVEL CODE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE. TRAVEL CODE'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID TO TRAVEL CODE FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100).
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Travel Code against third-party claims arising from your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or applicable law, or from products you build with it.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, consistent with Travel Code's standard terms of service. Disputes will be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association. For customers located outside the United States, disputes will be resolved by arbitration administered by the International Chamber of Commerce, seated in London, England, in English. Either party may seek provisional remedies from a court of competent jurisdiction.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify account holders by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Enterprise agreements
If you have signed a separate agreement or order form with Travel Code covering the Service, that agreement prevails over these Terms where they conflict.
